North American Wolf -- and little Red
Riding Hood
The wolf comes in two varieties -- the gray
and red, and they inhabit much of North America. Large and doglike, the
wolf comes in many colors, from white to black. Standing almost 40 inches
high at the shoulder and weighing 100 pounds or more, this is one big
critter with teeth. Wolves are predators and love to munch anything with
meat. Deer, moose, sheep and smaller animals make up its primary diet.
They also eat fish (salmon) when available. Don't call "here
puppy" to this one, because they run in packs and it would be an ugly
site.
