Whitetail Deer
America's Favorite Big Game Animal
Whitetails inhabit much of North America.
In the Spring, these critters have reddish coats, followed in the Fall
with a gray coat. These deer measure 5 to 6 feet in length and typically
weigh about 150 pounds; however, the largest recorded was over 400 pounds.
Whitetails are vegetarians...and they love acorns, other nuts, fruits and
crops. Beautiful to observe, caution should be taken around male deer
(bucks) which inhabit areas close to people, as the buck can become highly
aggressive during the fall mating season and has been known to attack (and
kill) humans. |
